We live in an era where social, mobile, and local seem to be the gateways through which all relevant innovations must pass and the lenses through which we must peek to understand ongoing and future transformations across many industries. Localisation, peer reviewing, and real time scheduling are rewriting the rules of commerce and traditional client vendor relationships. Banks and credit companies risk loosing control of their future as our mobile devices become credit cards. Enterprise social networking is connecting the ever elusive dots between product development, marketing, sales, and operations teams and their clients, suppliers and end customers, ubiquitously and dynamically, driving radical efficiencies and speeding business.

Cloud computing is shrinking the hardware space and expanding that of security. Data overflow is pushing the limits of intelligent analytics. No doubt that the role of information and communication technologies as enablers of many aspects of our personal and professional daily lives will gain momentum in the years and decades ahead, INNOVENTURE EUROPE’s selected Best of Breed enterprises will exemplify the diversity of the disruptive trends at work.

What to expect from each of these events?

Smart Energy Systems

Energy decision makers, experts, product suppliers, solution providers, project developers, innovators, and investors may differ on which distinct energy technologies and solutions will likely dominate the energy markets of 2020 and beyond, yet they will undoubtedly agree on one thing:  an energy system fit for the 21st century will be carbon light, waste free, and resilient. Those innovations that subscribe to this reality, and contribute to its advent, stand a chance to shine and occupy centre stage, and those that don’t will most likely be relegated to the margins of relevant innovation

INNOVENTURE EUROPE’s Smart Energy Systems edition will showcase solutions that make energy conservation a natural event in industry, business, transportation and private homes. On the supply side we will look for innovations that decarbonise fossil sources and enhance the energy yield from cleaner alternatives. From the point of production to the point of use, we will uncover those technologies and solutions whose end purpose is to contribute to a world where energy is “on demand”, produced for immediate consumption, as close to the end user as possible, in perfect alignment with every day economic and living needs, at an affordable and stable price.

Health Technologies

The challenge of providing the most efficient care at the lowest cost possible in the healthcare industry is likely to amplify in the coming years and decades. Population aging in the western world, ever more modernizing lifestyles in much of the developing societies, and the rise of unpredictable health epidemics, form the perfect storm for a dramatic increase in the demand for care against a backdrop of supply insufficiencies across the entire value chain from treatment facilities, to health personnel, to research skills, to shrinking public spending budgets.

While much of the answer lies in transforming the healthcare system from one focused on curing illnesses after they take place to one focused on preventing illness from happening in the first place, advances in the fields of bio-informatics, statistics-based targeted medicine, highly intelligent internet connected diagnostic devices, and wireless and mobile health apps that link patients to physicians, are all combining to usher in a radically different healthcare system focused on predictive care, personalised diagnostic and virtual treatment within bio-connected communities. INNOVENTURE EUROPE’s Best of Breed selection will uncover opportunities across these fields and many others.

Environmental Technologies

From unpredictable weather patterns, to increasing desertification, to soil erosion and loss, to air pollution and health epidemics, to water contamination and scarcity, to overflowing waste streams; the effects of unprecedented historic levels of greenhouse gas concentration in the atmosphere and hyper industrialisation are being felt across the globe as all life sustaining ecosystems continue to deteriorate on a daily basis threatening the livelihoods of populations everywhere.

While the debate rages on as to how much greenhouse gases is safe to emit and how to share the blame for the past and shoulder the responsibility for the future, innovators and entrepreneurs are moving forward with radical solutions to ensure that life on planet earth endures in the next decades and well into the 21st century. From atmospheric reengineering, to emissions capturing and transformation, to soil rehabilitation and vertical hydroponic farming, to waste up cycling and valuation, to water purification, harnessing and reuse, the fields of creativity and ingenuity are vast, and the investment opportunities in transformative solutions abound. INNOVENTURE EUROPE’s edition on Environmental Technologies will seek to showcase the best of them.

Information & Communication Technologies

We live in an era where social, mobile, and local seem to be the gateways through which all relevant innovations must pass and the lenses through which we must peek to understand ongoing and future transformations across many industries. Localisation, peer reviewing, and real time scheduling are rewriting the rules of commerce and traditional client vendor relationships. Banks and credit companies risk loosing control of their future as our mobile devices become credit cards. Enterprise social networking is connecting the ever elusive dots between product development, marketing, sales, and operations teams and their clients, suppliers and end customers, ubiquitously and dynamically, driving radical efficiencies and speeding business..

Stay tuned for more on What to expect in the coming weeks and months.
